What we do

We are called into Worthing homes and businesses at all hours. Domestic work is the bulk of it, but shops, offices and units get the same response, including out-of-hours cover so trading is not lost.

Jobs run from lighting faults and RCD tripping to power loss and tripping, with EICR safety certificates for landlords who need the installation documented properly.

Every job leaves with the circuit tested and the result recorded, and certification is issued to suit the work carried out.

We guarantee…

We will fault find and resolve the issue if it can be resolved on the spot. With 25 years experience in fault finding we believe there isn't an issue which we can't solve. Some issues may need a revisit due to the deterioration of the cabling, and where that happens we will always explain your options clearly before any further work begins.

FAQ'S

Frequently Asked Question

All of our services are backed by our 100% satisfaction guarantee and delivered by our qualified electricians.

All of it, along with Goring-by-Sea, Ferring and Lancing and the rest of West Sussex. Lines are open 24/7 on 0333 360 8583.

We work on the fixed installation rather than appliances, but part of the job is proving which of the two has failed, so you are not buying a new cooker to fix a circuit fault.

Yes. Flickering usually means a loose connection somewhere, and loose connections generate heat. It is much cheaper to find it early than after it has burnt an accessory out. See lighting faults.

Treat it as urgent if there is any heat, discolouration or smell at the board or an accessory. Otherwise it normally means one circuit has failed, and we can trace it with electrical fault finding.

For an emergency, someone needs to let us in and show us what happened. After that you are welcome to leave us to it. We will walk you through what we found before we go.

Electrical emergency?

Emergencies in Worthing usually start with lighting that fails on one floor and not another. Behind it is often weather coming straight off the Channel onto south-facing walls, or a board never split into enough circuits for the way the property is used now.

Post-war and later estates inland are common here, and in those the loss of one circuit can take out far more than it should. Testing establishes exactly where the fault sits.

Repairs are carried out to BS 7671, with certification to match the work done.

Every callout includes

  • Visual inspection
  • Testing the circuit

…and if we can resolve and fix or (identify the issue if the circuit needs rewiring). The cost ends there.

WORTHING

The electrical character of Worthing

Worthing is a large seaside town, from Victorian terraces to post-war flats. What that means underneath the plaster is a set of installations from very different decades. Weather coming straight off the Channel onto south-facing walls is the factor that shapes most of the emergency work we are called out for.

The housing runs to inter-war semis and bungalows set back from the front, post-war and later estates inland and converted houses in multiple occupation, and each was wired to the standards of its day. Additions made since, from extensions to garden supplies, are often where the weak point turns out to be.

Empty periods do their own damage. Property that stands unused, whether between lets or over a winter, tends to hide small faults until everything is switched on at once.

Most of it arrives as lighting that fails on one floor and not another. Once the circuits are tested the cause is usually obvious, and usually fixable there and then.

Landlords have a further duty: in England a rented home needs an EICR at least every five years and before a new tenancy. All work is tested to BS 7671.

For anything that is not an emergency, we book planned work around you, including inspections, board changes and remedial work following a report.

  • Consumer units where one RCD takes out the whole property
  • Outdoor sockets, garden lighting and outbuilding submains
  • Landlord EICRs for flats, conversions and rented houses
  • Storage heater and immersion circuits on off-peak supplies
  • Scorched accessories and burning smells, made safe on the visit

We also cover Goring-by-Sea, Ferring and Lancing.
