Most callouts here begin with a submain fault that takes out a whole outbuilding at once. Rather than swapping parts and hoping, we test circuit by circuit until the cause is isolated, then explain what we have found before doing the work.

Yes. We work across Washington, Worthing and Storrington and the rest of West Sussex, at any hour.
No. Where we have had to lift a board, cut a chase or open a ceiling, we make good as far as the electrical work allows and clear up before we leave.
Yes. If the supply into the property is sound then the fault is inside the installation, and that is exactly what electrical fault finding is for. We establish which side of the cut-out the problem sits on.
An older board is not automatically unlawful, but many lack RCD protection and cannot be repaired with parts still in production. We will tell you whether repair is realistic or whether consumer unit replacement makes more sense.
Most are done within a couple of hours, including testing. Tracing an intermittent fault takes longer, because it has to be proved rather than assumed.

*When there will be any rewiring, we will specify works and extra costs before any extra work would commence.
Also rates are multiplied by 1.5 for any weekend works

FINDON
Findon is a downland village in a valley behind Worthing, and that shapes the electrical work here more than anything else. Properties off the mains gas network, leaning hard on electric heating is the factor that shapes most of the emergency work we are called out for.
The housing runs to farmhouses off the mains gas network, thatched and timber-framed cottages and agricultural buildings brought into domestic use, and each was wired to the standards of its day. Additions made since, from extensions to garden supplies, are often where the weak point turns out to be.
Ownership complicates things too. Where a house has been split into flats, or an outbuilding brought into use, circuits get shared in ways nobody records, and a fault in one part can take out another.
The result is predictable enough: a submain fault that takes out a whole outbuilding at once. Testing turns that from a guess into a known circuit and a known cause.
Landlords have a further duty: in England a rented home needs an EICR at least every five years and before a new tenancy. All work is tested to BS 7671.
Where a fault turns out to be part of a bigger problem, we will say so, price the options and let you decide. Nothing gets replaced that does not need replacing.
