WELCOME TO
Electrical faults in Lancing are answered at any hour by an engineer with a stocked van, so the common causes are repaired there and then rather than booked in for another day.
We work throughout Lancing and the surrounding area, day and night. Whether the whole property has gone dark or a single circuit has dropped out, the approach is the same: isolate, test, explain, repair.
That covers power loss and tripping, fuse box repairs and, for landlords and buyers, EICR safety certificates where a full picture of the installation is needed.
Where a repair is a temporary measure rather than a fix, we say so plainly and set out what a permanent solution would involve.
We will fault find and resolve the issue if it can be resolved on the spot. With 25 years experience in fault finding we believe there isn't an issue which we can't solve. Some issues may need a revisit due to the deterioration of the cabling, and where that happens we will always explain your options clearly before any further work begins.

FAQ'S
All of our services are backed by our 100% satisfaction guarantee and delivered by our qualified electricians.
Usually. Around 85% of emergency callouts are resolved on the spot because our vans carry the parts for the faults we see most often around Lancing. Where a part must be ordered we make the installation safe and tell you exactly what happens next.
A board that trips is doing its job. It is usually a faulty appliance, water where it should not be, or a damaged cable. Testing identifies the circuit, and where an old board puts everything on one RCD, moving to RCBOs means only the faulty circuit goes off next time. See RCD tripping.
We make it safe, explain what we have found and give you the options in writing. That might be a partial rewire of one circuit rather than the whole property, or consumer unit replacement where the board is the weak point.
Switch that circuit off at the board, stop using it and call us. Heat and smell mean a connection is failing, which is the kind of job covered under burning smells and dangerous electrics, and we treat it as an emergency.
We work on the fixed installation rather than appliances, but part of the job is proving which of the two has failed, so you are not buying a new cooker to fix a circuit fault.
In Lancing the pattern is fairly consistent: properties left empty between lets, so small faults go unreported for months, and wiring added to over decades rather than replaced in one go.
The result is power that drops out only when it rains, or a circuit that works until it rains. We find which by testing, not guesswork, and we tell you what we have found before any work starts.
Where a repair is not enough we set out the options clearly, whether that is consumer unit replacement or targeted remedial work.
…and if we can resolve and fix or (identify the issue if the circuit needs rewiring). The cost ends there.
We have structured our pricing in 4 easy categories, so the customer and ourselves understand the costs involved.

LANCING
Start with the buildings. Lancing is a large coastal village of inter-war and post-war housing, and each phase of building brought its own wiring standards. Properties left empty between lets, so small faults go unreported for months is the factor that shapes most of the emergency work we are called out for.
The housing runs to properties extended a room at a time, bungalows and chalet bungalows and holiday lets and second homes left empty for long spells, and each was wired to the standards of its day. Additions made since, from extensions to garden supplies, are often where the weak point turns out to be.
Tenure matters as much as age. Lancing has its share of rented and leasehold property, and in those the fault can sit either in your own consumer unit or in a landlord circuit, so the first job is often working out which side of the line it is on.
What that produces, in practice, is power that drops out only when it rains. It is rarely mysterious once the circuits are tested, and it is usually repairable on the first visit.
Landlords have a further duty: in England a rented home needs an EICR at least every five years and before a new tenancy. All work is tested to BS 7671.
Businesses get the same cover as households, including out-of-hours attendance so a fault does not cost a day of trading.
We also cover Sompting, Shoreham-by-Sea and Worthing.
