WELCOME TO
Whether it is a tripping board, a dead socket or a smell of burning, we attend in Sidley day or night. Our electricians are Part P registered and City & Guilds qualified, and every job is tested before we leave.
Our engineers cover Sidley around the clock for emergency electrical repairs. The priority is always to make the installation safe, then to get power back to as much of the property as possible.
After that comes the diagnosis. electrical fault finding finds the circuit at fault, and in most cases the repair is completed on the same visit. Where wiring is at the end of its life we say so plainly and set out the options.
Prices are agreed before work starts, there is no call-out charge, and the rate is the same at night and at weekends.
We will fault find and resolve the issue if it can be resolved on the spot. With 25 years experience in fault finding we believe there isn't an issue which we can't solve. Some issues may need a revisit due to the deterioration of the cabling, and where that happens we will always explain your options clearly before any further work begins.

FAQ'S
All of our services are backed by our 100% satisfaction guarantee and delivered by our qualified electricians.
You are told the price before we start, and there is no call-out fee on top of it. If the job turns out to be larger than expected we stop and agree the change with you first.
Yes. If the supply into the property is sound then the fault is inside the installation, and that is exactly what electrical fault finding is for. We establish which side of the cut-out the problem sits on.
An older board is not automatically unlawful, but many lack RCD protection and cannot be repaired with parts still in production. We will tell you whether repair is realistic or whether consumer unit replacement makes more sense.
Most are done within a couple of hours, including testing. Tracing an intermittent fault takes longer, because it has to be proved rather than assumed.
Yes. Long submains out to garages, workshops and annexes are a common source of faults, especially where the cable is buried or has been extended over the years. We test the run and repair or replace as needed.
Sidley is terraces and inter-war housing on the northern side of Bexhill. That mix of building types is why no two callouts here look quite the same.
What they have in common is the cause: consumer units where one or two RCDs cover the whole property, showing up as an ageing board that trips and will not reset. Our job is to establish which circuit, which accessory and why, before anything is replaced.
Work is tested to BS 7671 and 85% of emergencies are finished on the first visit.

SIDLEY
Any electrician working in Sidley learns the same thing quickly: Sidley is terraces and inter-war housing on the northern side of Bexhill, and the wiring reflects it. Consumer units where one or two RCDs cover the whole property is the factor that shapes most of the emergency work we are called out for.
The housing runs to chalet bungalows with rooms in the roof, sheltered and retirement schemes and inter-war semis and bungalows, and each was wired to the standards of its day. Additions made since, from extensions to garden supplies, are often where the weak point turns out to be.
Age is only half of it. The other half is load: kitchens, showers and heating that draw far more than the original design allowed for, on circuits that were never uprated to match.
In day-to-day terms it shows up as an ageing board that trips and will not reset, which is exactly the kind of fault proper testing is designed to find.
Landlords have a further duty: in England a rented home needs an EICR at least every five years and before a new tenancy. All work is tested to BS 7671.
We would always rather look at something early. A flickering light or a socket that feels warm is a cheap visit now and an expensive one later.
We also cover Bexhill-on-Sea, Ninfield and Little Common.
